Cresskill, New Jersey
Cresskill, 07626 is a borough in the county of Bergen, New Jersey. The name Cresskill is a combination of two words: Cress and Kill. Cress refers to the watercress which grew in its stream, while Kill refers to the stream passing through. Cresskill was named a borough in 1894, the year of the borough mania.
Railroads provide great access from Cresskill to clients in New York City. In 1897, this means of transport contributed to Cresskill having the world’s largest chicken hatchery. The constant back and forth of people made the area very profitable during the time. Railroad access also helped make this place a major debarkation area for over a million US troops sent abroad during the First World War. In 924, a large obelisk was dedicated in the center of Camp Merritt, where it stands, to commemorate that fact.
Some of the areas our Cresskill location serves include Tenafly, 07670 and Bergenfield 07621.
