Norwood, New Jersey
Norwood, 07648 is a borough in the county of Bergen, New Jersey. It has a population of slightly more than 5,000 people. The territory where Norwood stands was originally settled at by just a dozen or so families in 1670. The families were mostly from the Dutch Republic and they purchased land at this location. Around this time, grants were given by the then Governor Philip Carteret. The Lenni Lenape also roamed the valley.
The name Norwood is derived from an old description given to the town- North-woods. It was part of a Northern township stretching from the Hudson River to the Saddle River. In 1905, Norwood withdrew from the township and was named an independent borough.
Forests in Norwood are home to many deciduous forms of life. The forests shelter foxes, rabbits, deer, turtle, wild turkey and, even coyote. There is a collision between man and wildlife in the area where there are many reports of deer colliding with motorists, coyotes disturbing human peace, etc. All these are growing concerns among the community.
Some of the places our Norwood location serves are Northvale, 07647 and Rockleigh 07647.
